All Hail the Queen

  • By:exxeltermite

Believe it or not, termites have social status! Similar to humans, termites have a certain caste like system that govern’s the whole colony. Queen(s), delegators, servants, and workers all play an important role in the termite colony. But this week lets focus on the Queen Termite.

At times, there can be multiple Queens in a termite colony. However, none is above the PRIMARY Queen–the most important individual in a termite colony. Her job is to simply reproduce more little worker termites. Speaking of reproduction, the Queen can lay as many as 30,000 eggs PER DAY. Over the course of her life she may lay up 100,000,000 eggs–just take a moment to count how many zeros that is!

one-does-not-simply-a - One simply does not get rid of termites Without killing the Queen

Exxel understands that in order to completely eradicate the Termite colony, one must simply kill the Queen. Join us next week as we make the next step down the Termite social ladder and talk about the Termite delegators.
